NPGS Logo Redesign

Here is a mock logo I designed for the National Plant Germplasm System. It’s a government organization that serves to maintain plant and crop diversity by growing and archiving different species of plants in a network of locations across the U.S.. They also distribute samples of their collection to researchers that need them in the field. This dichotomy of the scientific and the natural led me to create an icon resembling a strand of DNA, and using color to help suggest a plant with roots. This logo was made to be used in a variety of applications and at varying scale such as wayfinding and building signage, as well as products and packaging.
